Louisville League Recognizes Outgoing President Pat Murrell

On Monday, June 22, 2020, at the Virtual Annual Meeting of the LWV Louisville, the outgoing President was recognized for her outstanding contributions during this decade. Patricia Ann Murrell, PhD, served as president of the LWVL from 2012-2016, and again from 2018-2020. During her tenure she expanded League membership and voter registration efforts, initiated a non-fiction book club, and a League management and procedures handbook. To promote inclusiveness, Pat suggested Annual Meetings be held in different areas of the city; the Louisville Central Community Center, the Carpenter’s Union Hall, and Wayside Christian Mission’s Hotel Louisville were among the chosen locales. During her tenure she also undertook construction management of an exterior remodel of Lang House.

Pat’s interests in education and good government showed in all her activities. She is a consummate teacher and mentor. The Louisville League has been and is the fortunate beneficiary of her membership and leadership.
